Innovating a modern take on employee surveying and engagement, building organisation and spin-off company and getting to market

As a part of our mission at Orchard to make a positive impact on employees, and especially frontline workers, we dived into the area of Employee Engagement and Employee Satisfaction/Happiness.

It became immediately clear that employee surveys are often static, inflexible and carried out in a way that seldom create value for the employees and the management. At the same time employee well-being is becoming more and more important as a parameter to continuously attract, keep and develop talent - including Millennials and Gen Z who are becoming more and more digital and expect that their workplace adapts as well.

With Estée Lauder Companies as a development partner we went through a Design Thinking process and Design Sprints to come up with a modern take on Employee Engagement. The result was an app based platform with a SnapChat/Stories like design for high frequent “micro surveying” along with new HR/management processes to act fast on the real time data.

MY ROLE

As Managing Director at Orchard I was also led this project and was driving the strategy and business case development as well as actively participating in the user research, UX design and functioned as Product Owner in the design and development process.
